A co-worker

I think some people freeze up for pictures, like me, and then there are some like this co-worker who just start giving different expressions and are very comfortable in front of the camera. As this co-worker was so comfortable, he unwittingly became my experiment subject unfortunately in my quest to take better photographs and learn how take a portrait. I suppose the real way to learn is to get a hard subject and try to get the pictures out of them.

Anyway, here are my crappy photos with a 50mm f1.8 canon lens. I don't know if it's good sharpness. I don't know if I shook. I don't know if I could get sharper with another lens or I don't know how to use this one. The squarish picture is cropped. The other two I realize I probably went in too close, which is not necessarily a bad habit to have to break I don't think

Much thanks to my co-worker for allowing me to post and take pictures of him. I decided his name remains annoymous for his protection. And no this is not some fetish. He's a really nice person but he's a newlywed

Food

My brother got a better picture of the tuna thing he was eating here

Here is my shot of the desert

It's noisy, it's shaky, not focused, we were on high speed film and very low shutter speed. We probably would have been helped by a tripod. No flash for both shots, just natural light
